Don't worry 'bout a thing

Eileen Murray

As I get older and perhaps wiser (some days anyway), I have begun to question the idea of beauty and gender and gender labelling. It's hard for me as a woman who came of age in the excessiveness of the 80's to be comfortable going out without make up, without putting on the expected mask of so-called femininity.  I can imagine it is equally challenging for individuals who don't identify with their gender to become comfortable with themselves. It's all challenging and sometimes I feel like a relic trying to get my head around the fact that we don't have to worry 'bout a thing....every little thing, is going to be alright...if we just love and respect one another.
